Service Learning Requirements
To receive an AIS Certificate of Completion upon graduation, students must complete at least 120 hours of service learning, where 80 hours serve the local community and 40 hours are globally focused
Recording Hours
The service learning hours you complete must be documented and verified by an event coordinator for each activity on an AIS Service Learning Record Form. Students must provide a personal reflection as to how this service impacted their own lives, and they must also connect their experience to one (or more) of the global competencies. There are two different forms: one for local service and one for globally focused service.
Students are expected to complete at least 20 hours of local and 10 hours of globally focused hours during each academic year. Students will have access to their updated service learning totals at the end of each academic quarter. Students can expect to meet with the Director at least once during the year to complete an Annual Hours check-In form. |
